After 48 years KSWB 840 AM is now joined with 98.1FM... The same great sound on both radio frequencies. What does this mean? It means we catch all listeners on both AM and FM. KSWB will now be known as Radio Clatsop and will continue playing an upbeat collection of the best songs from the 60's up through the 90's.
KSWB will continue its mission as being a locally owned and operated station, directed towards the community, nothing there has changed, nor will it. Being locally owned, your advertising dollars will go further, you will be guaranteed a personal relationship and together we will strive to gain success and exposure of your business or organization.
This station began broadcasting on July 12, 1968 as a day time - only station with 1,00 watts of power on a frequency of 930 kHz. The Seaside Broadcasting Corporation, with Gerald B. KSWB licensee Seaside Broadcasting Corporation was acquired by new owners on June 20, 1972. The station aired a contemporary music format throughout the 1970's, 1980's and 1990's under several owners.
